Derby-Shelton Rotarians devoted their June 4 online meeting to a discussion of the difficult situation facing our country over racism and violence. Rotary is an organization devoted in inclusion, diversity and peace not only in the u.S. but worldwide. Members shared their thoughts and experiences and discussed what needs to be done to improve the lives of all community members, but also the Black community which has been subjected to racism throughout our shared history.<\/p>\n
Rotary International summed up the thoughts of our members by releasing the following statement:<\/p>\n
“At Rotary, we have no tolerance for racism. Promoting respect, celebrating diversity, demanding ethical leadership, and working tirelessly to advance peace are central tenets of our work.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n We know there are no easy fixes and that challenging conversations and work lie before all of us. Rotary\u2019s strength has long been our ability and commitment to bringing people together.
