The Derby-Shelton Rotary Club hosted it's first ever HOPTOBERFEST on October 26, 2013 and it was such a successful day that it's now part of Rotary's annual calendar - and should be on yours as well! Over 700 people turned out on a chilly, but brilliantly sunny day marked by good music, great wings, fantastic beer and amazing friends both new and old in 2013, and this year we are anticipating up to 1,500 people..
We want to thank everyone who attended last year, but especially all our beer and wing vendors who made the event so tasteful. Dew Drop Inn was the winner of the Wings contest with Porky's finishing second. Net proceeds from the event this year are being used to fund the Teen Room at the Shelton Boys and Girls Club, purchasing a Dr. Seuss book for every 1st grader in Derby and Shelton to promote family literacy and to fund a mental health program at the Parent Child Resource Center.
